BIO
Hi! I am an Italian painter based in Portugal, active as a professional artist since 2018.
My practice is rooted in academic studies in Art History in Florence and has evolved through a self-directed exploration of painting, informed by my background in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, and Marketing.
Following my relocation to Lisbon, I established myself as a full-time visual artist.
Influenced by Expressionism, Surrealism, Naïve Art, and Symbolism, my work explores the dualism of reality, the relationship between human beings and nature, and the porous boundaries between conscious and subconscious realms. Painting becomes for me a space of balance between intuitive personal expression and the desire to activate an inner, emotional dialogue within the viewer.
I work primarily with acrylics, but I often experiments with different materials, supports, and techniques. My palette—dominated by natural tones—is my vehicle to transform subjective experiences, places, and memories into universal, poetic imagery. My collections oscillate between autobiographical narratives and conscious tributes to the Masters of the past, integrating recognizable personal motifs within a broader art-historical dialogue.
I currently work as an independent artist on private commissions, online projects, and with art prints at markets and Festivals. Among the longest-standing and still ongoing collaborations, my works are exhibited at:
P.A.C. – Portuguese Art Center, Lisbon; Zephyr Gallery, Silves; Stronddo Online Gallery, Lisbon”.
ARTIST STATEMENT
My artistic practice originates from deep observation and a constant passion for the Great Masters of the past, particularly Naïve art, Expressionism, and Symbolism. The dialogue with these movements intertwines with the observation of contemporary reality, which is interpreted or transformed through a symbolic lens.
My pictorial work focuses on the moment when the observed subject has already passed through my inner world and has been re-elaborated through perception, vision, and gesture. The artwork thus becomes the result of an intimate process in which reality and personal experience merge. At times, while observing the finished painting, I perceive a sense of autonomy within the image, as if it had generated itself.
In my compositions multiple perspectives and heterogeneous elements coexist, creating visions suspended between reality and a dreamlike dimension. Reality loses its defined boundaries and reveals itself as a fluid space, both internal and external to the artist, without losing its authenticity.
Through painting, I invite the viewer to enter my inner world and to recognize themselves in new possibilities of reality. I paint to give form to my experiences and to express what I feel, see, think, and dream. My intention is to transform individual emotions into images capable of communicating universal values.
My language is visual. Through images, I seek to convey a message that speaks of love, hope, beauty, creative pain, connection with nature, and freedom of expression. In a world already marked by darkness and disharmony, I consciously choose to represent the vital force of existence: a flower growing from concrete, stars shining in the night sky as symbols of desire, the power of nature, passion, and life itself, expressed through color.
